TELL US IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR...

Everything feels important, but nothing feels meaningful.

You start your morning strong - you read the bible, spend time with God, and your day is off to a great start... and then life happens.

You get to the end of the day so fast, that you forget how it even started.

Sure, you had some time with God in the morning, but it was almost as if you "checked Him off your to do list" - and then went on with your day.

You're longing for more closeness with God... but the busyness and distractions of your everyday life just seems to get in the way.

DON'T WASTE THIS MOMENT

The COVID crisis is a sobering reminder that we are not in control.

And while we don't know what tomorrow will bring, we do know that God's word is true and will never end.

He will comfort us in all our troubles (2 Corinthians 1:4), His steadfast love never ceases (Lamentations 3:22) and his peace is permanent (John 14:27 ).

We believe that this during this time of uncertainty, the Lord has given all of us a unique opportunity to run to Him and experience all of the above like never before.

But what does that look like on a daily basis?

How do we go from squeezing God into our busy schedules and lives to consistently inserting ourselves into His?

We're so glad you asked :)

The Kairos Journal was prayerfully designed to help you filter out the noise so you can:

  • Build a stronger prayer life
  • Hear God's voice more clearly
  • Draw closer to Him daily

"We never grow closer to God when we just live life; it takes deliberate pursuit and attentiveness."

- Francis Chan, Crazy Love

YEP, WE'VE BEEN THERE TOO.

Hi, we're Pete + Jordan - parentpreneurs, believers, & founders of Daily Kairos.

With the above in mind, Pete started wondering how to cultivate new habits to help him better engage his time with God. As he learned to lean into his time with God by praying, reading, listening and writing, he noticed a structure forming in all of his journals.

After some words from the Lord, visions from Jordan, and a little kick in the pants from the Holy Spirit, Pete knew what he had to do. And so he set off on a mission to share the same strategies and methods that helped him draw closer to the Lord.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

The Kairos Journal gives you a proven structure for daily time with God.

The 3-month journal is designed to ease you in with daily verses and simple prompts you can use to start your day off strong - and continue it the same way by helping you document your walk with God, look for recurring themes in what He says to you, and reflect on the dialogue over time.

THE DAILY SPREAD

The left side of the journal is built to give your mind and heart a fresh start. It's the reset button. The right side of the daily spread is free-flowing and offers space for you to write down how God is speaking to you throughout your day.

THE WEEKLY SPREAD

The weekly reflection section is built to help you record and discern what God is saying to you over an extended period of time and make note of the verses you've memorized throughout the week.

Nurturing your relationship with God starts with a daily habit - the Kairos Journal was created to help you build that habit.

WHAT DOES "KAIROS" MEAN?

Great question! We're glad you asked :)

The ancient Greeks had two words for time: Chronos and Kairos

Chronos is where we get the word "Chronological" and refers to sequential time. It's a quantitative measure of time (ex: it's 2:00pm. It's time for lunch.).

Kairos on the other hand isn't quantitative, it's qualitative. Kairos describes an opportune time or moment.

We believe that God doesn't want to fit into a limited time and that our relationship with Him isn't defined by simply a morning devotional.

Instead, we believe in living in constant communication with God - and in doing so, experiencing more "Kairos Moments."

This is exactly why this journal was created:

to help you recognize and live in more Kairos Moments with God.

Prayerfully designed to help you break free from the overwhelm & start spending more intentional time with God

READY TO BUILD A STRONGER PRAYER LIFE?

The Kairos Journal was thoughtfully and prayerfully designed with both scripture and habit-forming psychology in mind.

MEMORIZATION

Quite simply, memorizing scripture strengthens our relationship with God and increases our awareness of God's will in our lives.

God's Word is living truth, and it can change our livesIf you need a little help with choosing a verse, the Kairos Journal includes a helpful index of Bible verses to help you find relevant scripture.

Here are just a few examples from the Bible that talk about the importance of memorizing scripture:

Psalm 119:11 (ESV) - "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."

Psalm 119:105 (NLT) - "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."

Deuteronomy 11:18 (NIV) "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads."

Joshua 1:8 (NIV) "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

GRATITUDE

The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means "grace." So it only makes sense that God receives our endless and constant gratitude!

The Bible shares a lot about gratitude (just head to the Psalms for great examples):

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT) - "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

Hebrews 12:28 (NIV) - "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe"

Expressing our gratitude to God doesn't just help us spiritually; here are a few examples of the psychological benefit of gratitude:

  • In positive psychology research from Harvard, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness.
  • Psychologists find that, over time, feeling grateful boosts happiness and fosters both physical and psychological health, even among those already struggling with mental health problems.
  • Brain scans of people assigned a task that stimulates expression of gratitude show lasting changes in the prefrontal cortex that heighten sensitivity to future experiences of gratitude. The emotion literally pays itself forward.

PRAYERS & PETITIONS

By writing out our prayers and lifting them up to the Lord every day, we are able to be more intentional, focused, and disciplined in our prayer life. Instead of saying "oh, I'll pray for you," this space gives you the opportunity to actually pray for your loved ones. It gives you space to write down what's on your heart.

By writing down our prayers, we're able to more clearly recognize how God is answering our prayers in our everyday life.

There are many verses that talk about the importance of prayer in our lives:

Philippians 4:6 (NIV): "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Colossians 4:2 (NIV): "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Romans 12:12 (NIV): "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Believe it or not, science also confirms the benefits of prayer.

In his book, How God Changes Your Brain, neuroscientist at the University of Pennsylvania, Andrew Newberg, writes, "The more you focus on something — whether that's math or auto racing or football or God — the more that becomes your reality, the more it becomes written into the neural connections of your brain."

INTENTIONS

This section of the daily pages provides space for you to set an intention for your day and your walk with Jesus.

According to INC, setting intentions can helps us live better lives and increase our energy. In a recent article, Marla Tabaka shared, "setting and living your intentions allows you to focus on who you are in the moment, to recognize and live your values, and to raise your emotional energy, which in turn raises your physical energy."

Additionally, our intentions can affect our molecular structure. Think about this simple fact: our bodies are made up of 90% water. In his study, Dr. Masaru Emoto proved that water can be influenced by intention and thought, and as a result, our intentions impact our physical bodies.

KAIROS MOMENTS

This is the heart of what the Kairos Journal is all about - creating space to freely document your moments with God throughout each day

By writing down our Kairos Moments - the words, visions, whispers, inklings, and truths that God reveals to us - we are able to more clearly hear His voice, reflect on what He is saying, and walk in His will for our lives.

By writing these moments down consistently, you'll be able to start recognizing patterns and better understand how the Lord is working in your life.

REFLECT & CELEBRATE

This section is a space for you to reflect on and celebrate all that God did throughout your day!

God is not random nor does a single thing take place in our lives outside of His control.

How did God show up today? What seemingly small prayers did he answer that help you to realize just how present he is? When did you feel closest to God? This section allows time for reflection on your day and how God was apart of it.

WEEKLY REFLECTION

Each journal also includes sections for weekly reflection built to help you record and discern what God is saying to you over an extended period of time.

This feature helps you intentionally focus on what God may be forming in you. As you are able to clearly focus on what God has been forming in you over a week or longer, you’ll gain confidence in discerning His guiding presence in your life.

Intimacy with God starts with intentionality by you.
